Abstract

There are health conditions that put the state of survival at risk, It has existed since
history, the definition of the patient in critical condition that requires special support
maneuvers to reduce the impact of future organic sequelae and in turn have a higher
success rate in solving the interruption of the homeostatic state of the body. In this
way , intensive medicine or critical medicine is the branch that deals with the previous
type of patient described. Therefore, there are four basic characteristics that define
the critical patient:
1. Serious illness.
2. Potential to reverse the disease.
3. Need for continuous nursing and skilled medicine care and assistance.
4. Need for a technical area (ICU)
During this systematic review of the literature, the updated compilations of the
different criteria that condition and guide the classification of the critical patient will
be detailed, specifically from the perspective of the internist, anesthesiologist who
works in the ICU. Finally, a special section will be presented on why the gynecological
patient requires a conditioned, priority and different support when it comes to criteria
