Abstract

Sacrolumbalgia is characterized by the presence of acute or chronic pain of the
lumbosacral spine caused by different causes that is frequently accompanied by
radiated or referred pain. Corticosteroids are the most effective anti-inflammatories:
they can inhibit the immediate and late manifestations of inflammation, inhibit
vasodilation, decrease liquid transudation and edema, reduce cellular exudate and
fibrin deposition in the inflamed area. In this article, we will talk about the latest
updates in the management of sacrolumbagia by epidural route, according to their
clinical characteristics the cause of said pain, a review of approximately 300-400
articles was made between 2018 and January 2021 in the Pubmed database, finding
that the different types of corticosteroids are the most used in the techniques that
are handled for sacrolumbalgia via epidural.
