Efectos de la radiación ionizante en equipos quirúrgicos

La radiación ionizante (RI) asociada a equipos médicos (EQ), se encuentra como uno de los riesgos laborales de mayor importancia actualmente, dado el incremento de procedimientos quirúrgicos apoyados por radiación ionizante, por ende es necesario comprender los efectos biológicos que se desprenden de dicha exposición en el personal de salud de distintas áreas médicas, para ello en esta revisión sistemática se propone entender conceptos básicos y novedosos sobre: RI, exposición del personal médico en diferentes tipos de procedimientos, conocimientos sobre el tema en diferentes grupos quirúrgicos, aplicación de estos conocimientos en su práctica quirúrgica, evaluación de nuevas tecnologías en equipos de protección, y complicaciones asociadas al uso de equipo de protección en el personal de salud. Siendo esta información útil para sensibilizar sobre el uso de RI en ambientes médico quirúrgicos y mejorar la práctica clínica asociado con el uso de estas.
