Abstract

Imaging tests, including retrograde urethrocystography, have precise indications in
the evaluation of the pathology of the urethra. Particularly in the pediatric population,
for this reason complete clinical information is essential, which allows a precise
diagnosis, resulting in a truly effective treatment and coordination between the doctorradiologist
to obtain the maximum information with a minimum radiation dose and with
risks adjacent areas that may affect the health of minors. Consequently, retrograde
urethrocystography is an exam performed to look for anatomical alterations of the urinary
tract and especially ureteral vesic reflux, which is one of the most important causes of
urinary infection. In addition, it allows to diagnose stenosis among other pathologies:
anterior urethra, anterior urethral trauma, malformations and even allows a postsurgical
assessment.
