Actualización de las pautas del paciente con reemplazo de cadera y necrosis avascular de la cabeza femoral

La necrosis avascular de la cabeza femoral (NAVCF) es una de las causas comunes de dolor
de cadera en un adulto joven. Dado que la edad temprana se asocia con una alta demanda
funcional, la NAVCF puede tener un efecto devastador en la calidad de vida. El curso natural
de esta enfermedad lleva al eventual colapso de la cabeza femoral, seguido de cambios oste
artríticos secundarios en la cadera. El manejo depende de muchos factores, incluida la gravedad
y la ubicación de la lesión necrótica, los factores del paciente y la probabilidad de colapso. El
reemplazo total de cadera (RTC) es necesario en casos de colapso de la cabeza femoral, dolor
intenso, osteoartritis o destrucción de la articulación de la cadera. Sin embargo, ha habido un
debate sobre si RTC es una opción viable para NAVCF considerando los múltiples factores que
influyen en la NAVCF. Además, los factores como el resultado funcional después de la cirugía,
la longevidad del implante y la necesidad de cirugías de revisión deben considerarse al realizar
la artroplastia total de cadera. En este contexto, hacemos este estudio con el fin de mostrar el
abordaje actual de la NAVCF.
