El síndrome del nervio auriculotemporal o también conocido como síndrome de Frey (SF) es una patología de presentación clínica frecuente que por su mecanismo de presentación: sudoración, hiperemia y dolor, principalmente en la región preauricular posterior a ingerir alimentos picantes, se ha tornado indescifrable en algunas especialidades y asimismo sub diagnosticado suscitando un sesgo en definir su etiología, interpretación, prevención, tratamiento e intervenciones.
En esencia, el conocimiento de bases médicas como fisiología y anatomía favorecerá en el clínico definir y evaluar su evolución, respuesta terapéutica, predisposición y pronóstico con el fin de garantizar interrelacionar las especialidades pertinentes.
En esta revisión se estudia el rol del Neurólogo, Otorrinolaringólogo y Paliativista frente a la no remisión del síndrome con éxito y asimismo las diferentes estrategias diagnósticas y terapéuticas.
