Abstract

Autoimmune diseases have a profound impact on the urogenital system, affecting both physical
and mental health. In women, they can cause vaginal dryness, ovarian dysfunction, and renal issues,
while in men, they may lead to testicular vasculitis and fertility problems. Common conditions
include systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjögren’s syndrome.
It is also crucial to consider less common autoimmune diseases, such as anti-NMDA receptor
encephalitis and IgG4-related diseases, which may have significant implications in this area.
This article will review autoimmune diseases affecting the urogenital system in both sexes,
highlighting both common and rare conditions to provide a comprehensive view of their impact.
