Abstract

The enzymatic debridement is an efficient procedure in patients with burns that
compromise healthy tissues, acting not only as an early decisive but also as a conservative.
In this way, choosing this method in patients with burns under a 15% reduces the need
for future graft, bleeding, long hospitals stay, blood products, complications, septics and
repeat escharotomy surgeries.
During this system literature review it will set forth the best management option for the
patient that suffers from burns, upholding the patients benefits, and with less additional
complications.
