La histamina es una sustancia con alto valor para ser estudiada, es una amina biogenética
vasoactiva que contribuye como mediadora de la respuesta inflamatoria como la producida en las alergias. Sin embargo, sus funciones fisiológicas moduladoras y multifacéticas están mediadas por cuatro receptores que otorgan heterogeneidad molecular y actividades constitutivas a la histamina. En este artículo hablaremos de los avances y estudios de la histamina, no solo como señal de alergia, sino como actor en nuevas terapéuticas e incluso
como agente patológico.
