Histamine, more than a marker of allergies

Histamine is a substance with high value to be studied. It is a vasoactive biogenic amine that
contributes as a mediator of the inflammatory response such as that produced in allergies.
However, its modulatory and multifaceted physiological functions are mediated by four
receptors that confer molecular heterogeneity and constitutive activities to histamine. In this
article, we will talk about the advances and studies of histamine, not only as a sign of allergy but
also as an actor in new therapies and even as a pathological agent.
